Gospel singer Adeyinka Alaseyori has urged Nigerians to intensify prayers for the country following the recent cases of kidnapped children, speaking on Sunday in Nigeria amid growing public anxiety over insecurity.

The artiste addressed the issue during a public exhortation shared online, calling for nationwide spiritual support for affected families, security personnel, and government leaders.

Alaseyori said her message was prompted by public frustration and criticism surrounding the handling of child abductions, stressing that prayer should unite citizens rather than deepen political divisions.

She argued that national healing requires collective spiritual action, from leaders to ordinary households, and warned against politicising grief at a sensitive moment.

So many people are saying the prayer they are praying is not working, but believe me, prayers are working. Don’t let anybody use you for political whatever. From the president to the last person in Nigeria, we need to pray.”
