According to @TeeMento, the man had spent years posting pictures of beautiful locations, new iPhones, Tesco shopping and train rides on social media while encouraging his friends to leave Nigeria.

@TeeMento claimed that the woman’s husband later called angrily, accusing his wife of ruining his image by revealing their living conditions.

He reportedly insisted that she should be patient because everyone goes through difficult times when they first relocate abroad.

However, the X user said they challenged him for allegedly giving friends a false impression of his life in the UK.

The narrator recalled telling him:

“But you lied. You sold suffering as soft life.”

“If I told the truth, who will respect me?”

Story sparks conversation about life abroad

Reflecting on the experience, @TeeMento said the incident made them realise that some Nigerians living abroad might be struggling despite the glamorous pictures they share online.

The post has drawn attention to the pressure some people may feel to present a successful image after relocating, even when their actual living conditions are difficult.
