A man, Michael Adebisi, who runs a football viewing centre has revealed the huge support he got from Nigerians after he cried out for help.
The physically-challenged man had pleaded with singer, Davido to support his business with N1m, last month when the DMW boss announced a N20 million giveaway for 20 small business owners.
Adebisi’s tweet read; ”I started football viewing center two months ago and all I could afford was a tv, a stabilizer and a small generator. I can’t show more than a match at a time and also battling with a faultful generator. I would love to have two more televisions, a UPS, a fan and a standby gen.”
Speaking with Legit after his tweet had gone viral, the young man revealed that Nigerians sent a total of N305,000 to him.
The graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) also spoke on why he resorted to opening a viewing centre.
After bagging his bachelor’s degree, Adebisi hunted for a job for years to no avail. He expressed the opinion that he was probably not considered for employment because of his physical disability.
But he could not allow that to define him and prevent him from striving to succeed which was how the idea of starting a viewing centre was born.
According to the entrepreneur, when he appealed to Davido in a tweet asking for N1m, he never expected Nigerians would come through for him like that.
He said that apart from the N305,000, well-meaning people also gave him PlayStation, a television, and a decoder.
