She also pointed out that she had previously undergone breast reduction procedures, resulting in a significantly smaller appearance than before.
“Maybe someday, when I’m an old lady, I will want to be a free bird,” she said

“But in this time of having to be in these dresses and stuff like that, I went down dramatically, much smaller than I used to be. But I am not ready.”

During the podcast, McCarthy consulted celebrity plastic surgeon Dr Terry Dubrow about whether mould-related illness could affect breast implants.

Dubrow, who has performed cosmetic procedures on the actress since the early 2000s, said he had never come across such a case during his professional career.

His response appeared to reassure McCarthy, who maintained that she had no immediate plans to remove her implants.

However, Dubrow’s personal experience does not establish that breast implants are entirely free from medical risks.

She said her condition became more complicated as she developed unexplained growths, infections and other symptoms that prompted consultations with different medical specialists.

According to McCarthy, she was diagnosed with mould and mycotoxin poisoning in December 2025.

She also described the psychological and physical challenges of trying to recover, including becoming increasingly concerned about exposure to mould in her surroundings.

Her fear reportedly became so severe that she temporarily moved into a tent in an attempt to avoid further exposure.

“At one point, you know, I was just so desperate to heal that I literally was living in a tent,” she recalled.

Despite the experience, McCarthy said she was not prepared to undergo another breast procedure, maintaining that she would reconsider the decision when she felt ready.
