According to reports, the TikToker with over 87,000 followers was shot during a livestream on June 22, 2025, after exposing alleged corruption and gang leaders.

Reports indicate that Sarmiento had been receiving threats for his claims against top government figures, including Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, and members of Venezuela’s most feared gangs, Tren del Llano and Tren de Aragua.

The livestream captured the horrific moment when armed men stormed his home, shooting him multiple times.
His mother, who was also shot in the abdomen, miraculously survived the attack.

However, the Venezuelan government has condemned the murder, and the fiscal general, Tarek William Saab, has designated the Fiscalía 69 Nacional to investigate the case.
