According to Giwa, being nearly 50 and still unmarried naturally makes people suspicious, especially in a society where marriage is often expected at a certain age.

“I am single, almost 50… I would be surprised if you don’t consider me a red flag,” he said.

He went further to describe himself jokingly as a “walking red flag,” noting that many people assume there must be a reason a man his age remains unmarried.

Giwa explained that cultural expectations in Nigeria place strong pressure on men to settle down early, making lifelong bachelorhood appear unusual even for successful individuals.

Wealth And Attraction In Relationships

The businessman also addressed relationships involving wealthy older men and younger partners.

According to him, attraction in such relationships is sometimes linked more to financial security than genuine emotional connection.

The attraction is not that he’s good-looking. The attraction is some level of security,” he explained.

He warned that relationships built mainly on financial expectations could easily lead to disappointment once reality sets in.

The Illusion Of Wealth

Giwa further pointed out that wealth can sometimes create misleading impressions in relationships.

He said some women who initially assume he lives a flashy lifestyle later realise that appearances can be deceptive.

Some women get to know me properly and realize that not all glitter is gold,” he said.

The businessman concluded by stressing that one of the biggest warning signs in modern dating is the illusion of wealth.

One of the walking red flags is the illusion that he has money when he doesn’t,” he added.
