During the proceedings before Justice R.A. Oshodi, prosecution counsel C.C. Okezie urged the court to move forward with the arraignment, claiming that the defendant had been properly served with the charges. Nkama Nneka, the defence counsel, maintained that the service was very recently carried out.

After hearing both representations, Justice Oshodi determined that the arraignment should proceed in accordance with legal procedures. The charges were then read to the defendant, signaling the start of trial proceedings in the case.
