The former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, has emerged the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate for the 2023 election.

He won with a total vote of 371 votes.

Nyesom Wike- 237

Diana Oliver -1 vote

Sam Ohuabunwa 1 vote

Pius Anyim -14 votes

Udom Emmanuel- 38 votes

Bala Mohammed- 20 votes

The governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Tambuwal, earlier withdrew from the Presidential race.

Tambuwa who stated this during the ongoing National Convention/ presidential primaries asked delegates and his supporters to support the former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

“Time has come for us to make sacrifices in the interest of our party and our nation. I have come to the conclusion that I have to step down”, he said.
