Nigerian comedian and content creator Sabinus has revealed that although he is based in Lagos, he continues to shoot his comedy skits primarily in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He made this known while speaking in a recent interview with VJ Adams.

The comedian explained that his decision is largely influenced by the nature of the storylines he uses for his skits, which he believes are better suited to the Port Harcourt environment.

According to Sabinus, he normally travels to Port Harcourt specifically for his skit productions before returning to Lagos, where he spends time, handles other activities and builds connections.

“All my comedy skits I shoot them in Port Harcourt, but I base in Lagos even till now. I have a time I normally go to shoot, then I come back to Lagos to enjoy my life, then do some connections, but my skit shoot goes down in Port Harcourt because of my kind of storyline.”
Sabinus’ comments echoes the continued influence of his Port Harcourt roots on his comedy, despite his current base in Lagos.

The comedian has built much of his comedic identity around stories, characters and situations drawn from everyday Nigerian experiences, with Port Harcourt remaining an important setting for his content.
