Dino Melaye, a politician, protested today, February 27, at the National Collation Center in Abuja.
Dino, the PDP party agent, requested that Yakubu Mahmood, the INEC chairman, permit the results from the states recorded at the state collation centers to be projected on one of the center’s screens so party agents in attendance can compare them to what the Resident Electoral Commissioners from each state are presenting.
The chairman, on the other hand, disregarded his request and suggested that party agents at the state levels should have voiced their concerns at the time of the election if there were any anomalies in the results.
Dino then suggested that it should be required of party agents to certify that the results they are announcing match those that have been uploaded to the INEC website.
When his proposal was not accepted by the INEC chairman, Dino began to shout asking for the collation exercise to be suspended until the Collation officers are made to say his proposed declaration.
