The 41-year-old forward left the squad after being an unused substitute in Portugal’s Nations League match against Norway and learning he would not start against Denmark on October 1.

Ronaldo later accused Portugal coach Jorge Jesus of breaking his word on two occasions, describing the situation as an “absolute breach of trust”.

However, the suspension will not affect Portugal’s upcoming fixtures because it is backdated to the Denmark match. Ronaldo has already served 19 days of the ban and is not expected to miss any games for his country.
