Rema addresses feud rumours with Davido, says they have no issues

Afrobeats singer, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has addressed rumours of a feud between him and fellow Nigerian music star Davido.

The ‘Calm Down’ hitmaker dismissed the speculation during an interview with Ebro Darden and Laura Stylez, saying there is no conflict between him and the DMW boss.

Rema said online fan comparisons between artistes often create the impression that there are rivalries where none exist.

Addressing the speculation, Rema said, “Davido and I have no issues; those are just rumours. I have so much respect for the OGs.”

The singer also explained that he previously tried to discourage his fans from participating in online fan wars involving other artistes.

According to Rema, such comparisons can become difficult to control when supporters of different artistes continue to fuel them online.

He said, “Fans are always the ones starting things. I used to caution my fans, but sometimes the other artiste enjoys the comparisons and doesn’t do the same, so I stopped.”

Rema’s comments come amid ongoing comparisons between Nigerian artistes and their respective fan bases, particularly on social media.

The singer’s clarification appears to draw a distinction between online fan discussions and his personal relationship with Davido, whom he described as one of the industry’s respected senior artistes.

Rema and Davido have both built successful careers in Afrobeats, with their music reaching audiences in Nigeria and internationally.

For now, Rema’s latest comments have put his position on the reported feud rumours on record, making clear that he does not consider himself to be in conflict with Davido.
