Nigerian activist Deji Adeyanju has shared his perspective on the country’s electricity challenges, stating that many citizens are not demanding round-the-clock power.

He spoke on this while being featured in a recent episode of the Honest Bunch podcast.
According to him, Nigerians would be satisfied with having electricity during key hours, particularly in the evening and early morning, to meet basic needs like sleeping comfortably and preparing for the day.

He argued that power could then be prioritised for industrial use during other periods, stressing that citizens are asking for modest improvements rather than unrealistic expectations.

“Nigerian don’t even want 24 hours light, can they even afford 24 hours light ? Nigerians just want to come home at 8pm and meet light so they won’t sweat when they sleep and also meet the light by 7am so they can iron thier cloths and then you can take the light and divert it to where factories are. Nigerians are not asking for much and they’re the easiest people to please. How can this be too much?”
