Pastor bags life imprisonment for raping and impregnating two teenage sisters

Nduka Anyanwu, A Nigerian pastor was on Tuesday, February 14, sentenced to double life imprisonment by a sexual offence and domestic violence court in Lagos for raping and impregnating two biological sisters in a church building.

The convict defiled the young girls over an extended period of time under the pretense of casting out evil spirits from them. He is reported to be the pastor at a Lord’s Chosen Church branch in Oshodi.

The sisters were molested and impregnated by Anyanwu under the guise of praying with them, the prosecution claims.

The 13-year-old and 17-year-old sisters, both of whom had given birth to children, testified against the pastor, and the presiding judge, Justice Abiola Soladoye, declared him guilty of their pregnancies.

The judge described the convicted person as morally bankrupt after concluding that the prosecution witnesses’ testimony was reliable and convincing.

She said that the parents of the victims should have also been charged by the police because they were equally responsible for instigating the heinous crime.

One of the victims returned home on multiple occasions to inform their parents about the pastor’s inappropriate behavior, but she was constantly beaten and brought back to his house.

She declared that “the prosecution has shown the elements of the offenses against the morally bankrupt defendant” and gave the convicted man a double life sentence.
