“Omo to born girl first good oo” – Mother shares experience with first daughter

A Nigerian mother has praised her first daughter after revealing how the young girl took care of her younger siblings and completed household chores while she was away at the market.

The woman, identified as Mercy Nkemdirim Enyimocha on Facebook, shared the experience in a post explaining how she returned home late after spending more time than expected searching for items at the market.

She said she had asked her daughters to wait for her and promised not to spend too much time away. However, she could not find what she wanted and ended up moving around the market for longer than planned.

Mother Worries About Children After Returning Late

Recounting the experience, Enyimocha explained that she became worried about her children as she made her way home, particularly because she thought the younger ones might be hungry and the baby might be crying.

However, she was surprised by what she found when she eventually arrived.

First Daughter Takes Care of Younger Siblings

The mother revealed that her first daughter had taken responsibility for several household tasks in her absence.

According to her, the girl had washed the plates, swept the floor, warmed the soup, fed the younger children and bathed them before putting them to sleep.

The unexpected display of responsibility left the mother smiling as she watched her daughter. She explained that the girl even became shy when she noticed her mother’s smile.

Woman Praises Benefits of Having a Girl First

Sharing her experience on Facebook, Enyimocha used the incident to explain why she believes having a girl as one’s first child can be a blessing.

She wrote:

“If you get married and you want to start having children, tell God to first give you girl child, this is my reason 👇👇

I went out yesterday evening to the market and I told my girls to wait for me.

I promise them I won’t waste time there but when I reach there, I could not find what I was looking for.

That was how I was going up and down in the market.

Could you believe when I got home late, I was worried my kids will be hungry and the little baby will be crying.

But when I entered the house, my first daughter have washed plates, sweep the floor, warm the soup, feed the little ones, bath them and they are already asleep.

I just stood, looking at her with a huge smile 😊 on my face, she was even shy seeing me smile at her.
