According to a statement from the legal team representing the plaintiff, David Ojuko Adefesobi, the allegations were made around February 17, 2026, and included the distribution of his phone number across social media platforms such as WhatsApp.
The lawyers described the accusations as baseless, malicious, and reckless, stating that they caused David to face public disdain, ridicule, and a serious blow to his reputation among family, peers, colleagues, and the wider community.

They further explained that the false claims have resulted in lost business opportunities, ongoing online harassment, threats, and considerable emotional distress. The continued sharing of screenshots and reposts, they said, has worsened the damage to his reputation.
