Moses Bliss Issues Apology Following Controversial Design Challenge

Gospel musician Moses Bliss has responded to criticism from the creative community regarding a recent design challenge he shared online.

The situation arose after Bliss posted on Facebook requesting graphic designers to create flyers for his upcoming event at no cost. He mentioned that he would select one design to use and potentially collaborate with that designer in the future. The post quickly gained attention, with some participants submitting AI-generated designs while others shared original artwork.

The debate soon spread across social media, with many creatives expressing concern. Critics argued that asking for free professional work is inappropriate and uncommon in most industries. However, some defended the initiative, noting it could provide exposure for emerging designers.

In a video addressing the issue, Moses Bliss apologized to those who felt undervalued. “I sincerely apologize to every graphic designer who felt disrespected or undervalued… that was never my intention,” he stated.

He explained that his team already had a flyer design in place but, after seeing the feedback and submissions from followers, he turned the process into a lighthearted challenge. “The goal was to give creatives a platform to showcase their work, not to undermine their value,” he added.

Bliss also emphasized that participating in the challenge was optional and shared plans to reward some of the most impressive submissions, reaffirming his appreciation for the design community.
