A Nigerian man has forgiven the driver who allegedly knocked down his wife in a hit-and-run incident along Ogudu Express, Lagos.

The man, identified as @iamrichygold on X, shared his emotional reaction after receiving news that his wife had been involved in the incident on Wednesday evening.

He said the call informing him about what happened was heartbreaking and left him in tears, but he chose to forgive the unidentified driver.

“If you were the one that did a HIT AND RUN at Ogudu express, Lagos yesterday evening, just know that it was my wife you hit.

“I FORGIVE YOU, I really do,” he wrote.

‘Getting the Call Was Heartbreaking’

The man said he was deeply affected after learning about the incident but repeated that he had forgiven the person responsible.

“Getting the call and the news was heartbreaking and caused tears but I FORGIVE YOU.

The man also expressed gratitude to a passerby who reportedly came to his wife’s aid after the incident.

He said the unidentified man helped keep his wife conscious and rendered first aid while they waited for an ambulance to arrive.

“I’m grateful to and for the Man that kept her conscious rendering first aid till the Ambulance got there,” he said.

He added that the good Samaritan remained at the scene and continued helping until midnight.
