“He deserves all he gets, I won’t protest for him” – Isaac Fayose blasts El-Rufai amid alleged ₦432bn probe

Popular businessman and socialite Isaac Fayose has said former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai deserves the treatment he is currently receiving from the Federal Government led by President Bola Tinubu.

El-Rufai is reportedly under investigation over an alleged ₦432 billion corruption scandal linked to his time in office.

Reacting in an Instagram post, Fayose revealed that he declined to join a protest allegedly organised to demand El-Rufai’s release, insisting that the former governor “deserves all he gets.”

According to him, El-Rufai’s administration created religious imbalance in Kaduna State.

“During his administration, El-Rufai turned Kaduna into a Muslim state, and the Christians became vulnerable,” Fayose said.

He further claimed that before El-Rufai assumed office, previous administrations had maintained a political understanding by ceding the deputy governorship position to Christians, but alleged that the former governor disrupted that arrangement.

Fayose maintained that he would not support any protest in El-Rufai’s favour, stressing that his loyalty is to Nigeria and not to any political party.

“I’m not and will never be a member of ADC. I belong only to the ‘Nigerian Party.’ I go for what is good for Nigerians. The only candidate I like is Peter Obi,” he added, referring to former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
