Nigerian writer and blogger Toby Emmanuel, popularly known as Tobywrites, has spoken out following alleged defamatory statements made by former Big Brother Naija star Natacha Akide, also known as Tacha.

Earlier this week, Tacha took to X (formerly Twitter) where she accused Tobywrites of mistreating thousands of people and further alleged that he was involved in trafficking women.

Tobywrites has strongly denied the accusations, describing them as false and unfounded.

The situation quickly escalated into an online exchange between both parties, which eventually led Tobywrites to take legal action against the reality TV personality.
Sharing an update, Tobywrites revealed that his legal team had contacted Tacha via email. He also posted a copy of the legal document, which outlined the specific tweets in question and labeled them as defamatory and irresponsible.

According to the document, he is seeking substantial financial compensation for damages. Reports also suggest that he filed a petition with Guinness World Records concerning a title associated with Tacha.

Tobywrites further stated that the lawsuit is only one of several steps he intends to take in response to the allegations.

Meanwhile, many of his supporters have backed his decision to pursue legal action, arguing that he did not provoke the accusations. Others believe Tacha should present clear evidence to support the claims she made online.
