Ex fish pie seller claims viral ₦100M Eko Hotel deal was staged

Viral fish pie seller, Alax Evalsam has stirred fresh reactions after alleging that his widely publicised ambassadorial deal with Eko Hotel & Suites was staged.

Speaking during The Clarity Zone podcast interview, he claimed the viral moment that suggested he secured a massive endorsement was orchestrated.

According to him, he was taken to the hotel by influencer King Mitchy and asked to act as though he was signing a contract in front of management.

The move reportedly led many to believe he had landed a lucrative deal, with earlier reports suggesting a two-year ambassadorial contract worth between ₦5 million and ₦20 million, alongside perks like accommodation, a car, and performance opportunities.

However, Alax now insists the “signing” was merely for show, casting doubt on the authenticity of the deal that had been celebrated as his major breakthrough.

He said in part …

“King Mitchy took me to Eko Hotel and then she introduced me to their management and then asked me to behave as if I am signing a deal, so that is when people thought I collected a contract of 100 million Naira. The made me act as if I had signed an ambassadorial deal.”
