EFCC confirms arrest of Verydarkman following multiple petitions

Anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), breaks silence as they confirm the arrest of social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as Verydarkman (VDM).

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale revealed to BBC News Pidgin on Monday that the arrest followed numerous complaints filed by different individuals.

“We arrested him to respond to a series of allegations raised against him by some petitioners,” Oyewale stated.

When questioned about any connection to Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale clarified that the petitions came from various individuals and emphasized the agency’s responsibility to protect them.
