Nollywood actress Joke Silva is receiving an outpouring of love and support from colleagues and fans following the death of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva.

The veteran actress, who is married to legendary actor Olu Jacobs, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, announcing that her brother passed away at the age of 73.

In her tribute, Joke described him as “easy-going” and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.

“With acceptance of God’s Sovereign will. We announce the call to Glory of my dear brother John Olabiyi Silva, long John Silva. Bros B… Uncle B… My easy-going, lucky brother. Rest in peace. January 22nd, 1953 – August 29th, 2025,” she wrote.

The announcement has prompted condolences from fans, Nollywood colleagues, and well-wishers, many of whom flooded her page with words of comfort and prayers for her family.
