Mercedes made the appeal in response to a giveaway announced by the Mavin Records boss on X (formerly Twitter). Don Jazzy had invited users to share their problems and state how much money they needed.
Responding to the post, the reality star explained that the exposure she gained from the show had not translated into the life she hoped to build. She described herself as a young woman still trying to find her place in the world.

“I’m just a young woman trying to find my place in the world. I’m not asking for a luxurious life. I just want to be independent, have a place I can call my own, feel safe and rebuild my career.
The exposure from the show hasn’t translated into the life I hoped to build. I’m trying to find my feet and create something meaningful for myself. Any help towards securing accommodation would mean a lot to me,” she appealed.
