BBNaija Angel Smith’s Mother Responds To Backlash Over Daughter’s Same-Sex Marriage

The mother of former Big Brother Naija contestant Angel Smith has come to her daughter’s defense following public criticism over her same-sex marriage.

Recently, Angel Smith shared pre-wedding photos and videos as she prepared to tie the knot with her partner. She also gave fans a glimpse of her white wedding card while interacting with a fan who disapproved of her decision. The backlash soon extended to her mother, who faced online scrutiny as well.

In a widely shared post, Angel’s mother stated that she has embraced the term “shameless woman” that critics have used against her because of her daughter’s choices. She argued that both she and Angel have been unfairly targeted.

She highlighted that some reality show housemates are dating married men without facing similar criticism. She added that her daughter’s conduct is more respectable than those who publicly expose their personal lives on social media yet judge her.

Angel’s mother urged critics to reflect on themselves before attacking her daughter. She also pointed out that Angel is the main provider in her household and challenged detractors to take on the responsibility of supporting their own families. She described her critics as hypocritical and foolish, adding laughing emojis to her post.

Despite her defense, many social media users continued to criticize Angel’s mother, branding her “shameless” and claiming that her inability to control her daughter stems from her having her out of wedlock. Some also labeled her a failed parent and said they would keep an eye on how Angel’s wedding unfolds.
