“I was placed on ₦1m weekly wage” – Nkechi Blessing on break from acting

Popular Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has disclosed the surprising reason behind her recent break from acting, revealing that she was placed on a ₦1 million weekly wage by an anonymous benefactor.

Speaking during a recent episode of Curiosity Made Me Ask, a podcast hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Nkechi said the mystery individual offered her consistent financial support at a time when acting wasn’t yielding much profit.

The actress explained that the gesture made it easier for her to step back from Nollywood temporarily, especially as film roles were not bringing in significant returns.

“Someone anonymously put me on a ₦1 million weekly salary because I wasn’t getting paid enough for movie roles, that’s why I took a break from acting,” she said.

“I can’t shoot a movie and I might not even make up to ₦1 million profit from it,” she added, highlighting the financial challenges some actors face despite being in the spotlight.

When the host pressed her to reveal the identity of the person behind the generous offer, Nkechi sharply declined.
