A recent video of gospel minister Dunsin Oyekan, widely known as “The Eagle,” has ignited discussions online about the importance of security for gospel performers, much like their secular counterparts.

The viral clip shows a chaotic moment during one of Dunsin’s ministrations, where an unidentified man suddenly climbed onto the stage and aggressively grabbed the singer mid-performance. The unexpected encounter caused a stir, and it reportedly took the intervention of at least three individuals to free Dunsin from the man’s grip.

This incident mirrors similar situations experienced by mainstream artists such as Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy, who have all faced overly zealous fans storming their stages. One notable example includes a fan who dangerously held onto Davido’s leg during a performance, nearly pulling him to the ground, all in an attempt to express admiration.

The video involving Dunsin has since sparked reactions, with many questioning whether gospel musicians should begin employing bouncers or personal security during public ministrations to ensure their safety.

Meanwhile, in a more somber update, Dunsin Oyekan recently marked the sixth anniversary of his wife Doyin’s passing. She died on May 18, 2019, leaving behind two children. In a heartfelt tribute, the worship minister reflected on the journey since her death, expressing enduring love and remembrance.
