Davido helped me land Sony Music Africa deal after leaving DMW – Mayorkun

Popular Nigerian singer Mayorkun has revealed that Davido, his former label boss, played a key role in helping him land a deal with Sony Music Africa.

It would be recalled that Mayorkun joined Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) in 2016 and left the label in 2021.

His move from DMW to Sony Music West Africa led to speculation about a possible fallout between the two artists.

However, in an interview with 3Music TV, Mayorkun clarified that Davido was instrumental in securing his new record deal.

He said …

“Aside from having my label, right now I am also with Sony Africa. Shout out to Davido for that as well, he facilitated the deal.”
