A Nigerian matchmaker has sparked reactions online after calling out a lady and her friends over an excessive restaurant bill of over ₦1.05 million during a date.

The incident, which has been circulating on social media, was shared by the matchmaker, who claimed she introduced the lady to a man for a serious relationship.

Date Allegedly Turns Into Group Outing

According to the matchmaker, the lady had earlier gone on a first date with the man, during which he paid a bill of about ₦200,000.

However, she claimed that on a second meeting, the lady contacted the man again and suggested they meet at a restaurant, saying she was bored and wanted to go out.

Four Friends Reportedly Join the Date

The situation escalated when the lady allegedly arrived at the restaurant with four of her friends, turning what was meant to be a one-on-one outing into a group gathering.

The matchmaker said the group went on to order a large amount of food and drinks, leading to a bill of over ₦1.05 million.

Drama at the Restaurant

She further alleged that the man, shocked by the total amount, offered to pay 70% of the bill while requesting that the lady and her friends cover the remaining balance.

This reportedly led to a disagreement at the restaurant, after which the man left, leaving them to handle the payment.

Matchmaker Reacts

Expressing disappointment over the situation, matchmaker said:

“Hello everybody, Teniola, na God go punish you, na thunder go fire you. I connect you with one guy. Now, you and this guy go on a first date. On that date, the two of you chop something of almost N200k plus. The guy cleared the bill.

Now, today, Saturday, in the morning, you kor call the same guy and say you dey bored, say make una carry una self out. The guy say OK, say him dey one meeting, say once him comot the meeting he’ll let you know. You come pick place say you wan go so-so restaurant.

Now, you use restaurant, a classic one. The guy say OK, no problem. When the guy kor finish the meeting, the guy kor tell you say him don dey go to the restaurant. Only for you to carry your four friends everybody listen o Teni carry her four friends come meet this guy.

On a nutshell, you and your four friends chop food of N1,053,000. Una no chop only food o, una still collect takeaway.

The guy come tell you say OK, can we share the bill, that he’s going to pay 70% out of the money. You come dey para for the guy on top his money. Na him the guy leave you, leave una there, say make una clear all the whole money.
