“Their Salary Is Now Gbese Wage”- Isaac Fayose Urges FG to Increase Salaries of Security Officers

Businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose has called on the Federal Government to increase the salaries of Nigeria’s security operatives, citing the growing economic hardship in the country.

In a statement shared online, Fayose said many officers are now struggling financially, claiming their current earnings are no longer enough to sustain a decent standard of living.

He made the remark while reacting to a scene of security personnel gathered at a bus stop, which he suggested reflected the worsening economic reality.

“Please, Federal Government should increase the salaries of our security operatives. Look at how they are gathered at this bus stop looking for money, there is no money in town anymore. Their salary is no longer a living wage but ‘Gbese wage.’” he was heard saying in the video

His comments quickly sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users agreeing that security workers deserve better welfare, while others referenced past incidents involving law enforcement.
