Famous Nigerian media personality Tolu “Toolz” Oniru has publicly called out vendors selling counterfeit Birkin bags for exorbitant prices, sometimes exceeding ₦8 million.

Using her Instagram platform, the mother of two questioned the financial sense of purchasing such expensive replicas, urging buyers to consider saving a little more for an authentic, pre-owned bag or opting for quality, affordable non-designer brands instead.

Toolz strongly admonished both buyers and sellers, demanding realism in pricing and challenging the obsession with designer labels:

“My people, why did I just see a vendor selling a fake Birkin for over N8m?? (£4,000/ $5,500) Even a milli is way too much! Are people really buying?? Is everything ok at home?… will you get flogged if you aren’t rocking designer brands? And if you do sell fake/ replica designer brands, pls be for real with your prices!”
