A lady has sparked reactions online after narrating how she confronted officials at her younger brother’s school over an additional ₦2,000 POS charge attached to a ₦200,000 school fees payment.

According to her, the incident happened when she visited the school to settle the fees but refused to pay extra charges for a POS machine allegedly owned by one of the teachers.
The woman explained that the disagreement escalated after the vice principal insisted the school’s official POS was not functioning.

Her story quickly gained attention online, with many Nigerians supporting her decision to demand accountability and proper documentation before leaving the school premises.
Sharing the experience online, the lady said she became suspicious after school officials requested extra money and later claimed receipt paper was unavailable.

“I went to my brother’s school this morning to pay his school fees, ₦200k. Tell me why the vice principal said I should add ₦2k for POS charges. I asked her how a school collecting that kind of money doesn’t have a proper working POS,” she said.

She added that the situation became more dramatic after she insisted on collecting an official receipt immediately after payment.

“After payment, I requested for receipt and this woman suddenly said, ‘The receipt paper has finished, I will give it to your brother later.’ I said, ‘Madam, I’m not leaving this school without my receipt. ₦200k is not beans in this economy.’ That was how receipt paper magically appeared,” she added.

The incident comes amid increasing complaints from parents and guardians over hidden school charges, delayed receipts, and accountability issues in some Nigerian private schools.
