Peter Obi reacts to Anthony Joshua’s accident in Ogun, shares concern

Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has expressed deep concern over a road accident involving former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua in Makun, Ogun State.

It would be recalled that the Nigerian-British boxer was involved in an accident at the Lagos-ibadan express road, which claimed two lives and left him a little injured.

Obi described the incident as particularly troubling, noting that it occurred while the boxer was in Nigeria. He also raised concerns about reports indicating that no ambulance was immediately available to transport Joshua to the hospital after the crash.

While wishing the boxer a speedy recovery, Obi extended his condolences to the families of the two people who reportedly lost their lives in the accident.

He prayed for comfort for the bereaved families and for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace.

“It is with deep concern that I received the news of the road accident involving former heavyweight boxing champion, Mr. @anthonyjoshua, in Makun, Ogun State.

It is particularly worrisome that this incident occurred while he was in Nigeria. Many of us are also compelled to reflect on reports that no ambulance was readily available to convey him to the hospital.

May God Almighty grant him a speedy recovery, and I extend my deepest sympathies to the families of the two lives lost. May God grant them comfort and grant the departed eternal rest. -PO”
