Pastor Remote turns boxing night into comedy with Sanwo-Olu

Popular skit maker Pastor Remote once again became the centre of attention after meeting Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the Chaos in the Ring boxing event held at Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Wednesday night.

The comedian, known for his dramatic “prayer warrior” style, shook hands with the Governor and declared, “There’s no one I pray for that it wouldn’t come to pass. You’ll become the President of the United States of America.”

In response, Sanwo-Olu lightened the mood further by telling him, “The prayer you prayed at the Emirates is manifesting,” which drew laughter and applause from the crowd.

A night of comedy and boxing

Pastor Remote did not stop there, as he turned around to the audience shouting, “Somebody celebrate grace nowww, what is going on here?” before playfully prompting, “Say it again sir, my prayers are being answered.”

The comic exchange between the Governor and the skit maker created one of the most memorable highlights of the evening, blending humour with the excitement of the international boxing night.

The event itself was a world-class spectacle, featuring fighters from different continents. American cruiserweight Brandon Glanton knocked out Olympic boxer Marcus Browne in round six, while Nigerian-born British star Dan Azeez made a triumphant homecoming with a TKO win against Sulaimon Adeosun.

Other fighters including Emanuel Odiase, Yusuf Adeniji, Taiwo Agbaje, Elvis Ahorgah, Ruben Torres, Jursly Vargas, and Osman Aslam also recorded victories, thrilling fans from start to finish.

The night drew dignitaries such as Minister of Finance Wale Edun, Minister of State Doris Uzoka-Anite, NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko, journalist Dele Momodu, and ex-footballer Victor Ikpeba. Music stars D’banj and Naira Marley also lit up the arena with performances.
