Nigerian rapper Vector speaks on how he met his wife, Yinka Coker, at a nightclub.

Speaking during a recent episode of the MENtality podcast co-hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Banky W, the rapper said the experience taught him not to judge potential partners based on where they are met.
Vector explained that, contrary to the common stereotype that women who frequent clubs do not make good wives, his wife is “super homely.”

He made the disclosure while arguing that people do not need to follow every societal expectation or piece of relationship advice when choosing a life partner, particularly regarding meeting places.

“I met my woman in the club. You will not believe she is super homely. Who would have thought? What was the first attraction? She was rapping Heavy D.
“So, you can’t take advice when it comes to a life partner. The typical advice that I heard before then was that there were no good women in the club.
“I am not saying you shouldn’t take any advice, you can have a few people who give you good counsel then on your own, you can decide what works for you.”

Vector and Yinka Coker got married in a civil ceremony in December 2022, and they have a daughter together.
