Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetelu Agu has raised concerns over what he described as society’s double standards in handling intimacy scandals involving men and women.

His comment surfaced online at a time when conversations surrounding media personality Frank Edoho and his estranged wife continue to trend across social media.

The ongoing discussion began after Frank Edoho confirmed that he and his wife, Sandra Onyenucheya, had separated and were in the process of ending their marriage.

Following the revelation, several allegations and counter-claims emerged online.

Rumours circulated linking singer Chike to the failed marriage, while Sandra also accused Frank Edoho of infidelity and emotional mistreatment during their relationship.

“Why is it that when a man and a woman both make the same mistake or fall into a scandal involving intimacy, society often lets the man walk away untouched or with little to no consequence, while the woman carries the heavier burden and is judged more harshly?” he asked.
