Ramsey Nouah, the renowned Nigerian actor, believes that talent alone is insufficient for establishing a long-term career, emphasizing the importance of discipline and consistency.

In a recent interview, the 55-year-old actor reflected on his decades-long career in the industry, remarking that many people mistake popularity for success without realizing the devotion and hard work required behind the scenes.

“I’ve realized and learned that talent isn’t enough. “Discipline is what keeps you consistent when inspiration fails,” he explained.

When asked what people typically misunderstand about his career in Nollywood, despite his accomplishments as an actor, director, and producer, Nouah noted that many people see the glitz rather than the sacrifices.

“Many people believe that success is synonymous with giving; nevertheless, this is not the case. They never see the work, the effort, the doubts, or anything else that goes on behind the scenes,” he explained.

“They usually don’t notice it, and they believe that being renowned means you’re already successful. That is what it implies, and that is what it requires.

When asked whether it is more difficult, becoming successful or staying successful, the actor stated that consistency transcends ephemeral triumphs.

“Success is a given, but it can only occur once. Consistency is crucial. And consistency requires discipline,” he continued.
