“It was difficult convincing Priscilla to become a muslim” — Juma Jux

Tanzanian-Nigerian singer Juma Jux has opened up about the emotional and spiritual journey that led to his wife, Priscilla Ojo, embracing Islam before their much-publicised wedding.

In a recent interview with Afrik Media, the singer revealed that the process of convincing Priscilla, daughter of Nigerian actress and entrepreneur Iyabo Ojo, to change her faith was not easy, describing it as “a little difficult” and emotionally intense.

According to Jux, he sought guidance from religious scholars and leaders who advised him on the right way to approach the sensitive subject with patience, understanding, and love.

“It was a little difficult convincing my wife to become a Muslim. I was receiving lessons from religious leaders, so there was a way that they were teaching me about how to convince her, and with time, she understood,” he said.

The couple recently celebrated the grand finale of their wedding, which drew attention across East and West Africa. Speaking about the significance of the event, Jux said it was more than just a ceremony; it was a spiritual milestone that he had foreseen in a dream.

“I knew everything when it came to my wedding. I had a dream about it. I was so lucky to find someone who wants the same thing as I do,” he said.

Following the wedding, both Jux and Priscilla took to social media to share appreciation posts, expressing gratitude for the love and support they received from family, friends, and fans.

Despite initial criticism and questions from some followers, with one Instagram user questioning Priscilla about her husband’s background, the couple has continued to maintain a united front, celebrating their love and religious journey together.
