“I’m not your slave” – Lady confronts elder sister over excessive house chores, sparks online reactions

A young Nigerian lady has taken to social media to vent her frustration over what she described as unfair treatment from her elder sister, whom she currently lives with.

In an emotional rant video on X (formerly Twitter) shared by @Hybrid_Ola, she accused her sister of overworking her with house chores and making her handle almost everything in the house.

Expressing her anger, she said:

“If you’re not comfortable in this house, then park out. Must you stay here? If you’re not comfortable with me, then park out and go. It’s you that will leave the house for me if you’re not comfortable.

“Toilet that I washed, it’s not even up to one week, you told me to go and wash it again. Only you used plate to eat sardine bread, you told me to go and wash it. It’s not even up to how many days I washed plate. Why do you keep doing this thing?”

She further stated that she feels disrespected and unfairly treated, making it clear to her sister that she’s not her mother.

The young woman insisted that helping out in the house is not the problem, but the constant commands and lack of sympathy have made her feel used and unvalued.

Her outburst sparked mixed reactions online. While some people advised her to endure and appreciate her sister for providing accommodation, others argued that respect and balance should exist, even among siblings.

One user wrote, “What do you expect as a last born?” Another commented, “If you’re staying in someone’s house, you should contribute, but respect must go both ways.”
