He warned Christians against giving financial assistance to believers who do not pay tithes, claiming such generosity could lead to financial difficulties for the giver.
The cleric made the assertion in a viral video while narrating an encounter with a fellow pastor who approached him for help after allegedly being forced out of his accommodation.

According to Ibiyeomie, some Christians who fail to pay tithes could bring financial hardship upon those who offer them financial assistance.

“There are christians you give offering to, you will be poorer than poor. Any believer who does not tithe and you give him money, things will be tight for you,” he said.

Narrating the encounter, Ibiyeomie said the fellow pastor arrived with a baby who was less than two weeks old and explained that he had been forced out of the house where he was staying.
The Salvation Ministries founder said he was particularly concerned about the newborn’s welfare and questioned how someone could evict a man carrying such a young child.

“A man of God came with a baby of less than two weeks and said where he was staying, they pushed him out of the house. I said the man who pushed you out must be very wicked. How can this small baby with you be driven out?” he said.

He disclosed that he eventually gave the pastor N40,000 to help him find accommodation.

However, Ibiyeomie said the money was significant to him at the time, as his bank account contained less than N200,000.

According to him, he later learnt that the pastor he had helped did not pay tithes, despite being a minister of God.

The revelation, he claimed, helped him understand the financial difficulties he had experienced after giving the man money.

“He said the man you gave does not pay tithe and he is a man of God. I heard you did it out of emotion, not compassion,” he said.

Ibiyeomie further disclosed that he sought God’s mercy after learning about the beneficiary’s alleged failure to pay tithes.

He said he subsequently decided to pay tithe on the N40,000 he had given the pastor, using his own money.

According to the cleric, his financial situation improved after he made the payment.

“Then my heavens opened,” he added.

The pastor also said his wife was aware of the incident, which he cited while warning Christians about giving money to believers who do not pay tithes.

Ibiyeomie concluded that Christians should exercise caution when offering financial assistance, claiming that giving to non-tithers could result in hardship for the giver.
