According to him, men should never make the mistake of confessing to their wives if they cheated. He insisted that silence, no matter how difficult, is better than telling the truth in such situations.

He explained that in general, couples should not tell their partners if they cheat. He said that whether it happens by chance, mistake, or deliberate act, it is wiser to keep it to oneself rather than confess.

Teju said: “If you cheat on your wife or your husband, but especially your wife, especially men, if you cheat on your wife, don’t tell her, don’t confess. If you cheat on your spouse, don’t tell them. Do not ever do it. It is one of the most catastrophic and damning things you can ever do in your life.”

He pointed out that while some people may argue otherwise or even quote the Bible to support confession, he strongly disagreed. According to him, one should first ask, “what exactly are you trying to achieve with the confession?”

Teju further argued that those who confess often deceive themselves into believing they are being clean and honest. In reality, he said, “you are not being honest but manipulative.” He insisted that the urge to confess usually comes from guilt rather than genuine truthfulness.

He also disagreed with the common belief that people confess simply to be honest. Instead, he said it is often because the guilt is eating them up, and they are only looking for someone to share the burden with.
