A user identified as Igwe fired back, saying: “Arrogance and pride is what kept you where you are today and you are saying this out of rejection. You slept and got another man’s wife pregnant and you dey here dey yarn rubbing. You should be ashamed of yourself. A fool at 40.”

Another user, CodeDating, took a more balanced stance: “Nothing wrong with kneeling down. It is just a gesture. But you shouldn’t be forced to do that. Kneeling down doesn’t make you less or a weak person. How a woman sees you and how you are acting around her is what determines if she will value you or not.”

Wale Yusuf also questioned the relevance of proposals altogether, saying: “Why should u even propose in the 1st place, to what end is the toasting and several sex u ve been having together, y won’t you know at a point in your relationship you’re moving a step closer to marriage, if all these are noted then proposal is nothing but another man’s culture.”

Another critic, Bucos, added a more personal attack: “How will you know the value of a woman when all you do is snatch them from another man. Eranko!!! Do you actually reserve any right to advise people on how to treat women with what you did to your original wife? Ewu!!”
