“He’s on the run” – X user accuses human rights activist of stealing from a ransom meant to secure release of his sister and brother-in-law

‎The claim was made by @Abdulganiyu0se1, a user on the micro‑blogging platform, X (formerly Twitter).

‎According to the X user, @Abdulganiyu0se1, Harrison Gwamnishu received a ₦20 million ransom and an additional ₦50,000.

‎The X user accused the human rights activist of stealing part of the ransom meant to secure his sister and her husband from captivity.

‎Harrison Gwamnishu Breaks Silence On X User’s Claim

In a lengthy Facebook post, Harrison Gwamnishu responded to the X user’s accusation, stating that he remained silent to protect the safety of the man who is still in captivity.

“The only reason I am staying silent is because of the safety of the man still in captivity. But since the family who are supposed to protect their brother are accusing me falsely, is it not better i drop all that happened including our initial plans for posterity sake”, He stated in the post.

According to the activist, he called on investigative journalists to obtain facts and gain a detailed understanding of the incident.

In his post, Harrison Gwamnishu disclosed that Edo State government representatives are aware.
