Fire Guts Popular Radio Station, Properties Worth Over ₦250m Destroyed (Photo)

Rize FM suffers a 250m loss due to an early morning inferno. The management of Rize 106.7 FM Warri in Delta State claims that a fire gutted the station on Thursday, destroying broadcast facilities and other property worth 250 million nairas. Rize FM, Warri’s second privately-owned radio station, was destroyed by an early morning fire on Thursday.

The inferno razed down the entire top floor of the building housing all three studios of the organisation, the transmitting room, all broadcasting equipment, the news and current affairs department, all computer systems, and other major offices and property of the organisation estimated at over N250m, “Rize 106.7 FM’s Head of Station, Mr. Laju Awala, said in a statement on Thursday evening.

“Management, on the other hand, takes this opportunity to thank the men of the Delta State Fire Service and Shell Fire Service, as well as station friends, who responded to distress calls and worked together to extinguish the fire.” “While management is working tirelessly to get the station back on the air, we also ask for help from members of the public and organisations to help us in any way we can so that we can continue to lead the way in positivity.” “We ask our clients, as well as our listeners in general, to be patient with us during these trying times; by God’s grace, this challenge will only last a short time, and we will emerge stronger and better.”
