The family of late Nigerian actor Francis Duru has announced his burial arrangements.

The announcement was made in a statement shared on the actor’s Instagram page on Monday. The statement was jointly signed by his sister, Anthonia Chenyi, and his first son, Ebuka Duru.

According to the family, Duru will be laid to rest at his family compound in Imo State on December 11, 2026. A service of songs will also be held in his honour on November 25 at Family Worship Centre, Idris Gidado Street, Wuye, Abuja.

The family further announced that burial activities would take place in his hometown on December 10 and 11, inviting members of the public to join them in honouring the late actor.

“Service of songs in Imo State on Thursday, 10th December 2026 at the late Pa Theophilus Ogide Duru’s Family Compound, Okai, Eziama, Isiala Mbano. Followed by funeral and interment on Friday, 11th December 2026 at Okai, Eziama, Isiala Mbano,” parts of the statement read.
Duru, 59, died on October 22, 2026, after battling an undisclosed illness.
