Actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot has finally responded to allegations regarding his sexuality.
In a recent interview on TVC, Desmond dismissed these claims as unfounded and unworthy of his attention.
“Why would I respond to an allegation that neither increases nor decreases my life?” he questioned.
A controversial blogger, included Desmond in a list of public figures purportedly involved in homosexuality, igniting a public discourse.
Further elaborating on the matter, the 50-year-old stated:
“It is merely an opinion someone has formed. It is unnecessary for me to confirm or deny it as long as I am making a positive impact on others.”
In refuting the allegation, he asserted:
“I am not gay.”
The lawmaker from Surulere also voiced his concerns regarding the unchecked power of bloggers, urging the government to contemplate regulating platforms like Gistlover, which he believes thrive on personal attacks and baseless rumors.
The blogger previously claimed to possess “damning” evidence and witnesses to support its allegations.
Many individuals named in the list swiftly took action to defend their reputations.
