Court Selects Facilities for DNA Test of Mohbad’s Son Liam

A Lagos court has selected three facilities for DNA testing of Liam, the son of late singer Mohbad. The decision comes amid ongoing disputes between Mohbad’s family and his widow over the child’s paternity.

The court, on Tuesday, December 24, 2025, chose two facilities in the UK and one in the US. One facility was selected by Baba Mohbad, another by Wunmi, and the third was independently chosen by the court. DNA samples will be collected in the presence of all parties to ensure transparency, and the transfer of samples overseas will be closely monitored.

The case has been adjourned to April 7, 2026, for further proceedings. This move follows years of calls for a DNA test on Liam, who turns 2, including requests from Mohbad’s father to confirm paternity after the singer’s death in 2023.
