A Nigerian Primary 3 pupil has become an internet sensation after delivering a humorous classroom debate in support of the motion that garri is better than rice.

The young girl, identified as Salami Aminat, confidently defended her position with witty comparisons and humorous examples, leaving many viewers entertained after a video of her presentation surfaced online.

Speaking before her classmates and guests, Aminat argued that garri remains a dependable meal for many Nigerians, especially during difficult times, unlike rice which requires cooking before it can be eaten.

She said, “Before I start, let me ask a simple question. If rice is truly better, why do people shout garri has finish?”

Throughout her speech, the pupil described garri as the “true friend of every Nigerian,” explaining that it comes to the rescue whenever there is no electricity, gas or money.
