Businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose has reacted to the viral video showing him singing “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand” alongside Seyi Tinubu, insisting that his relationship with the President’s son does not mean he has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Taking to his Instagram page, he explained that he spent quality time with Seyi Tinubu, Cubana Chief Priest and others at a gathering where they discussed politics and several other issues before ending the night with prayers.

“I spent quality time with Seyi Tinubu, Cubana Chief Priest and the rest of us last night. We discussed politics, we discussed everything discussable. When I was leaving, Seyi said, ‘Uncle Isaac, let me walk you to your car,’” he said.
He explained that while they were about to part ways, they decided to pray together, during which they also prayed for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Fayose stressed that praying for the President should not be interpreted as joining the APC, maintaining that he remains fully committed to the Obidient Movement.
“That doesn’t mean I’m in APC. I’m still 101% Obidient. Tinubu’s family are my family. I love Tinubu, but I told them we’re still going to win them. This is politics without hate,” he added.

The businessman also dismissed rumours that he had collected money to switch political allegiance, saying he has no need for financial inducement.

According to him, politics should not destroy family ties or friendships, adding that despite political differences, he still considers the Tinubu family close to his own.

He concluded by stating that his desire is to see a better Nigeria, adding that politics should not destroy personal relationships or friendships.
