“I don’t even have O-level” – Ibrahim Chatta explains why he dislikes being called ‘underrated’

Popular Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has reacted to frequent claims by fans that he is underrated in the movie industry.

Speaking in a recent interview with Akin Abolade, the actor stated that he does not agree with such opinions, explaining that considering his educational background, he believes he has achieved far more than he ever imagined.

Ibrahim Chatta Speaks on Education

According to Chatta, he did not complete formal education and does not even possess an O-level certificate.

The actor noted that when he compares himself to some of his colleagues in the industry, he feels grateful for how far he has come in life and career.

He said: “…if we are to judge by formal education, I think I, Ibrahim Chatta, should be opening gates for people like Actor Femi Adebayo and Actor Odunlade Adekola and the rest because I didn’t go to any school. In fact, I don’t even have O-level.”

“I Don’t Deserve All I Have Got”

The movie star explained that he gets uncomfortable whenever people describe him as underrated because he sees his success as grace and not something he takes for granted.

He added: “So I am always annoyed when people say I am underrated. I think I don’t even deserve all what I have got, it’s the grace of God that I am enjoying and I am not taking it for granted.”

Appreciates Fans’ Love

Despite disagreeing with the “underrated” label, Chatta acknowledged that many fans only use the word because of the love and admiration they have for him.

He also revealed that professors and graduates now make use of his work, describing it as a blessing.

“I have so many employees that are graduates, professors using my work, so why should I be tagged underrated? Though I know it’s the love some of my fans have towards me that makes them say such a lot,” he said.
